Project Overview:
GE Capital contacted Harris Communications seeking a solution for their national office in Norwalk, Connecticut. GE Capital of the Americas is a leading provider of commercial loans and leases to mid-market businesses across diverse industries. The company has a national and international presence, so having reliable cellular reception throughout their offices is essential for conducting business effectively.
Unique Problems:
GE Capital was experiencing poor cellular coverage throughout their national office. This location has a high concentration of employees conducting business both domestically and internationally every day, so this subpar cellular coverage was negatively affecting day-to-day operations, as dropped calls could result in lost opportunities.. With over 800 employees at this location alone, inadequate cellular coverage was unacceptable.
Solution:
Harris Communications was able to coordinate with GE Capital and the building manager to schedule a site survey and assess their needs. Following the site survey, we used our findings to design and propose a cost effective solution. Our solution was a multi-carrier Verizon and AT&T copper system design, taking into account the number of employees in the building to ensure the robust solution did not interfere with the cellular tower’s capacity. Using our extensive industry knowledge, we were able to provide an effective solution for GE Capital’s problem.
Results:
Ever since we implemented our custom wireless solution, visiting GE Capital employees from around the country as well as the office staff have seamless and reliable cellular reception in the building. GE Capital no longer has to worry about dropping calls and missing business opportunities.
